OpenAI: ChatGPT has over 200 million active users, doubling in just one year.

In a recent announcement to Axios, OpenAI stated that ChatGPT has reached an important milestone with over 200 million active users weekly, doubling from a year ago.
OpenAI also stated that 92% of the companies on the Fortune 500 list are using their products, and the use of their automated API has doubled since the release of the GPT-4o mini model last July. “People are using our tools as part of their daily lives, making a real difference in areas like healthcare and education – whether it’s assisting with everyday tasks, solving tough problems, or unlocking creativity,” said CEO Sam Altman.
Doubling the number of users in just one year is evidence that the trend of applying AI in technology continues to grow in general, and for OpenAI in particular, despite fierce competition from rivals such as Google, Meta, Anthropic, and other companies.
The announcement about OpenAI’s development coincided with a report stating that OpenAI is about to conduct a new funding round, which could potentially raise the company’s valuation to 100 billion USD. Potential investors include major names like Apple and Nvidia, and Microsoft may also join in for additional investments.
